A full evaluation takes approximately 50 minutes. We’ll review your past medical, social, and psychiatric history, and assess for different mental health conditions. We then work together to develop an initial treatment plan.
We use valid and reliable tools to screen patients who see us for mental health services, including the PHQ-9 for depression, GAD-7 for generalized anxiety disorder, and Vanderbilt Assessment Scale for ADHD. These screenings inform our diagnostic impression together with the patient interview.
Routine medication visits take 25 minutes. Sometimes all you need is a brief “check-in”. If you’re new to the practice or in the process of changing medications, this may take longer. We discuss the benefits, risks, and side effects of medication for mental health services carefully with each patient.
Our practice uses a range of evidence-based natural approaches. This includes nutritional supplements such as Fish Oil, Lavender, Folate, and other vitamins. Lifestyle changes can boost the effectiveness of medication in treating your mood.
Labwork can be useful in mental health services to rule out medical causes of depression and fatigue such as hypothyroidism, vitamin D deficiency, and iron-deficient anemia. Genetic testing offers insight into how you metabolize medications.
Whether your symptoms are mild or severe, we’re here to help.
